How to Meditate for Beginners – Key to Inner Enlightenment
By James Rink
Finding peace and balance in life requires three key ingredients; connectedness to others, following your hearts passion, and being in tune to the guidance of your own inner god spirit. But how do you truly know if your followings god’s path in your life? The answer can be found through synchronisties within your life, as this is how the universe tells us we are on the right path.
Synchronisties manifest themselves in many ways. So let’s just say you’re in a rut right now, financially speaking you don’t seem to be getting ahead and you don’t enjoy the people you work or live with. Perhaps this began as an engrained belief system built into your subconscious mind by an over bearing parent who told you life is supposed to be cold and hard and to just accept it.
But then one day through meditation and prayer you listen to your god spirit within and through a series of unexpected events you are exposed to a new belief system that teaches you reality is consciousness based. That is, you can affect others and circumstances around you using the law of attraction by simply changing your belief system. Perhaps that is even how you came across this article. So through both prayer and deep relaxation techniques you can communicate with your spirit within and your guardian angels and ask the universe to open doors to find the answers you seek.
These doors can come to you in many ways, such as, someone handing you a book on how to meditate for beginners, or perhaps you get a phone call from a total stranger who proceeds to give you a clue on how you could start a profitable business enterprise. But you first have to be receptive to these messages. This is why listening to our intuition is so important. Being in tune with god can be done in many ways, one of the more basic relaxation techniques beginners can do is Zen Meditation and using a Biofeedback Machine.
In traditional Zen Meditation you learn how to calm your body and mind in order to discover insight into the true nature of your being. Your mind is only in the moment; don’t think of the past or the future or how to get work done or what you should have said to that guy who cut you off in the grocery line. Instead bring you awareness to thoughts like, “my nose is itching”, “my leg hurts in this position”, and “the sun is beautiful.”
Here’s a simple guide on how to perform Zen Meditation. Begin by breathing in and out, and while doing so pay attention to when your breathing motions become deep and peaceful. When breathing in think about your body and when breathing out relax each part of your body starting with your shoulders. As you breathe in focus on the now moment and when you breathe out feel compassion for all the needs of your body. Relax your facial muscles and send a half smile to all parts of your body relaxing any muscles which may still be tense. Now bring your awareness to the joy of life, the joy of breathing, and the joy of seeing and hearing. Then when you are done focus on your breathing motions and allow them to bring you to the present moment.
Many people overlook biofeedback machines, these are devices which may use sound , light, or even electromagnetic fields to invoke certain brainwaves patterns conducive to deep meditation. A user may watch a computer screen or place a pair of glasses which contain LED lights that blink a specific brainwave pattern. Background software monitors the biofeedback link through either a heartbeat pulse rate monitor or your brainwave electrical patterns through an EEG machine. Your brain is like a muscle so the more you use these devices the more your brain becomes entrained to follow whatever benchmark goals you desire.
These biofeedback machines> have been around for a long time and have come down in price to become quite affordable. They also serve to take the guess work out of the process. Depending on the model you use; built-in software can help you with a variety of conditions including reducing stress, anxiety, depression, adhd, and even ptsd (post-traumatic stress disorder).
Now these are just two relaxation techniques that are proven to be highly beneficial to your regular meditation routine. So whether you are a beginner to meditation or seasoned you can be free from mental, emotional, or physical exhaustion and become empowered to live a stress free life full of the abundance of the gifts of your god spirit within. So now it’s time to step into positive health and get your life back on track.
